The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

A classy lady, & I'm glad to have heard of her, even though the occasion is a sad one.
Its a Jewish tenet that (whether you personally believe in an afterlife for individuals or not) people live on as long as they live in living people's memory, so now she'll live on in mine.
