What a crock Doubleday's invention of baseball has less credibility than Al Gore's invention of the internet. The whole story was fabricated by baseball and sports mogul A G Spaulding and has no basis in truth. As a matter of fact West Point records show Cadet Doubleday never left West Point on leave at the time he invented baseball in Copperstown.

Abner Doubleday may have been credited with inventing baseball, but he sure as hell didn't actually invent baseball. Although games similar to baseball have been around since the 14th century, Alexander Cartwright invented the modern version of baseball.

I wonder if it would be possible to file a protest on the validity of this question.

This question looks familiar - has it been asked in another way recently? In any event, knowing that the chemical element osmium gets its name because it's the only metallic element that actually has an odor makes this an easy one for me.

I can come to a reasonable guess - it's not Francis Scott Key because he died before the war; JWs were founded by Charles Taze Russell in the 1870s. So it's time to use the Double Dip and make C my first answer, followed by A if I'm not right.

would've been a good stack for a South Carolina boy since we have to call Atlanta and we're steeped in Ft. Sumter mythology, even the Yankee stuff.
