Once again, welcome everyone to the Winter 2009 Lyrically Speaking extravaganza! If you haven't read the rules post yet, you might want to check it out before playing this season....

Here is the first of the 50 games that will be included in this year's edition, and it is our first Retro Monday game of the season. I figured that for the first flashback game, I may as well go back to the very first month I ever ran Lyrically Speaking, which was October 2002. That was quite a milestone month for me, as those who have been around here for a while may remember, I didn't used to have a real computer, but a Web TV knockoff that KT so aptly dubbed a Web TV Thingie®. At the end of that October, my cable company was doing away with the WTVT® service, so I had no choice but to enter the computer age. Unfortunately, after I got my computer set up on October 10th, it wasn't even 48 hours before the hard drive blew to kingdom come, putting me right back on the WTVT® for 10 days.
One of the most frustrating features (or lack thereof) of the WTVT® was the inability to cut and paste. This meant that I had to copy down the lyrics from lyric sites in my notebook, then manually type them into each game! Ugh! This will explain why the snippets of lyrics I used in these games are shorter than what would normally be used in LS games, something which a few people grumbled about that month. And since I am posting these old games exactly as I did when I first posted them, unfortunately, you will have to live with the smaller cuts in today's game....
Anyway, today's game was originally posted on Friday October 18, 2002, and like most of my games from that month, was a theme based game. Please don't forget to spoilerize your answers, and this game will close no earlier than 7 AM CST tomorrow morning....
1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, and 3 points for the theme.....
1. The head nurse spoke up
Said leave this one alone
2. It's easy to deceive
It's easy to tease
But hard to get release
3. Everytime she's dancin'
She knows what to do
Everybody wants to see
See if she can use it
4. All of my life I've been waiting in the rain
I've been waiting for a feeling that never, ever came
5. It's down to me
The difference in the clothes she wears
Down to me, the change has come
6. From where I stand, it looks mighty strange
How you let a woman like that treat you like small change
7. 14 carat love you are my jewel of the Nile
When we make love diamonds are forever
8. Sitting on a park bench
Eyeing little girls with bad intent
9. I have only come here seeking knowledge
Things they would not teach me off in college
10. I'm upper, upper class high society
God's gift to ballroom notoriety
