It's awfully early to worry about standings.

We all have 28 more questions to go this month, and people who haven't yet played every January day have more than that.

I got my three questions right, but I'm below the Top 200.

I guess I was too slow on my three questions.

I guess I too am too slow to get too high as well. But generally speaking, I don't place too much significance on where I rank on any Internet listing, for it is way too easy, theoretically speaking of course, for people to cheat. All they have to do is play the game on their friend's computer and then go home to their own computer and they know all the answers.
Of course, No one on this Bored would cheat, but sometimes I wonder about those on the Sploofus listing, who based on their scores, seem to know all the answers almost immediately.

The QoDs are random for each player. Not everybody gets the same question each day.

It is theoretically possible to Google the answers, but that should result in very few bonus points [edit: it used to say "questions"].

If someone is getting over about 1350 on a question, it means that person has a fast, stable connection and either knew the answer immediately or made a quick lucky or educated guess.

Wouldn't you think though that eventually the questions that you may have gotten on your friends' computers will eventually pop up on your computer, or do you think they are operating from a database of hundreds if not thousands of questions for the QoD?
I don't expect you to know the answer to this question, but I do think there are some people out there so much wanting to be #1 on some computer list, that they will play maybe a game on several friends' computers to give them some sort of advantage.

Did the question state what planet?

For example, you could make a case for 17 hours being correct if your were on Uranus.

The reason we start with the top 3000, and then only after the 1st week.

I doubt that cheating is possible. I do think there are hundreds of thousands of questions, making a repeat question unlikely.

And I know that I am too slow to get a good ranking, even when by some miracle I get the first three or four correct -- same reason I will never try for Jeopardy! Or Password.

I have never and will never try out for Jeopardy, not because I am not fast, but because I don't know enough things. Password - I am fast enough and know enough for Password.

If it goes to syndication - I am there!

Today I got an 'RO2' error message for a correct answer.

I reported it, but I would have been 4/4 if it had been accepted. I took awhile to guess so I don't think I would have had a high score, but it was right.
