A rambling of sorts

#1 Post by otherindigo » Tue Dec 30, 2008 12:37 am

A 4-hr shift at B&BW turned into 8 hours of slinging lotion and soap. I noticed a lady's earrings and remarked to her about how much I loved them. She told me how she had ordered them, but they were larger than what she expected. They were super-cute. I told to have a great night and went back to my boxes of freight. Another associate came to the back and gave me something wrapped up in paper. It said, "Enjoy!" The earrings were inside.

Way cool!

I second what the lady said -- enjoy!

This is such a great story, OI. I can imagine your smile and your enthusiastic charm as you gave the customer your sincere compliments, and I can envision the good feeling she gained by knowing that you would be surprised and delighted with the earrings.

If I were close to your B&BW, I would be there so fast. The people who work in the store near me all are adorable and helpful. Knowing the kind of people they are and that you are an example of the employees in your store, I must assume that this company has found the secret for hiring great people.

Are you working there just over the holidays, or are you continuing to moonlight all year round?

You should have followed her into the parking lot and told her how nice her car was.

sc - Awwww.... thank you so much for the compliment. It looks like I'm staying on after the Holidays for floorsets and random freight shipments. It won't be as near as many hours as the Holidays which is quite ok with me. I'll be taking two grad classes this semester, Global Studies in Education (trip to Hong Kong) and School Law.

Uly - LOL good one

I took a bet with myself about who would be the first person to suggest such a thing.

You were 3rd on the list.

Rexer was first.
