My Mom was talking to my 6 year old about Jesus being born in a stable and the shepherds and stuff and she asked why do you think he came to the shepherds and he said-
"Well, if the kings were like politicians, nobody would have believed them."
I had always heard the common man thing.
That is pure him-I had never heard that interpreation before-I also do not say that politicians can't be trusted and so forth.
