The final ten minutes of the first half for the Cowboys.

It's amazing to watch so much talent do so little to make each other better.

Enjoyable, yet amazing.

If the score holds then then 5 out of the 6 NFC teams that made the playoffs last year will miss this year, with only the Giants returning (who were the #5 seed last year and #1 this year).

And if the Dolphins, Ravens, and Broncos win, then 3 out of the 6 AFC teams that made it last year will miss this year (with only Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Indy returning). None of the returning teams would have won a playoff game last year.

So out of the 12 possible teams in the playoffs, only one (the Giants) would have won a playoff game the previous season.

Not sure what is the biggest train wreck

- Cowboys doing what they are doing

- Tampa Bay after being 9-3 and only needing to beat the Raiders at home

- Denver if they lose tonight

- NY Jets, who couldn't win on the West coast against bad teams.

I thought this was gonna be a thread commemorating the first ever 16 game imperfect team.....

And I picked against them every week. First time I have ever picked a team correctly all season long. I guess that made up for picking Denver wrong just about every week.....

Of course, the game doesn't really matter. I can't catch MACRAE or fall behind Peacock, so I have clinched 2nd in the Bored pool....

It's dangerous to pick Denver to lose, and it's just about equally dangerous to pick 'em to win. We've beaten better teams this season.

This is embarrassing. Christie finally gets to watch a Broncos game, and look at it!

When the Stillers were behind 13-3 against Dallas, he went outside to put the Christmas lights up, and they came back to win.

Now we're doomed -- he won't go out and take them down. He's watching the halftime show.

The only team with some talent I have seen play so badly as the Cowboys lately, is this year's Toronto Argonauts. For that matter, the Cowboys have been on and off for three years now, and the common factor between the two teams is that poor Mike Van Der Jagt has had the pleasure of placekicking for both of 'em.

It is strange to see in the land of Taking Football Seriously (Texas, not Toronto....), that the offence winds up being so bereft of logic. In Woodward's biography of John Belushi, he mentions that crappy script work would get passed up to him on the assumption that "John will make it funny". For the Cowboys, things seem to be predicated on "Tony will make a play". Sometimes, that works;breaking free of the rush to throw the overhand lateral with a secondary forward to T.O. who in a perfect world might have broken for a touchdown, was beautiful. More often, instead of scrunching down and taking a sack, high risks for fumbles are taken,and disasters occur.

Oh, I thought this thread was a comment on my fantasy Baseball team, glad to see that it's not.

I was offered the opportunity to attend that game, but my flight schedule forced me to decline. I might well have declined anyway -- watching Philadelphia teams in miserable weather is not my idea of fun, but given the schedule I had no decision to make. --Bob

I know this should not be a complaint, but it is.

There are four teams with byes: Giants, Panthers, Titans, Stillers.

There are four TV time slots the weekend of Jan. 10-11: Sat at 430 and 8, Sunday at 1 and 430. Of those four teams, which one has the largest TV market and national following, and should be in the 8 pm slot? The stoopid Giants, that's who. But which one did the TV or NFL pick? The Panthers.

I know, I should be happy to have a bye (I am, very) and to get the better TV slot (as a fan, I guess I am). But an 8 pm start means we have no chance to get much into the newspaper except a game story and 1-2 side items. Normally we do 4 pages of coverage, and now we have zero chance of that. We barely got the 8 pm game with Giants in the first edition AT ALL.

I can't imagine what they were thinking putting the 24th largest TV market on primetime when they could have had the top one.

I am also very glad we won't be hosting the Iggles in that game, no matter what. They are on fire. We've played the other three possibilities this season already.

Maybe the Iggles can take out the Giants for us and we could host the NFC title game.....no, I did not even think that. I am only thinking about the economic advantages.

Jones still hasn't back-tracked on his statement that Wade Phillips will be back next year, even though the local newspapers and fans are unanimous in calling for his firing. There was a moment in the second quarter where the Cowboys had fourth and one. Phillips sent out the punting team, but Roma waved them back. Phillips just looked lost, and Joe Buck and Troy Aikman both wondered who was actually in charge of the team during the broadcast. If it had been my team, I would have gone to the locker room at halftime and fired Phillips in the locker room after that pathetic display. The team has no discipline and no leadership...

It all depends on press start time. We start earlier Saturday nights because the paper is bigger, and takes longer to get finished by 3:50 a.m.

Maybe they will grant us some time that night since it will sell papers.

You may have a point about the lastest game being the hot spot.
