Re: To-Do List, from Mutts
In addition to my very best holiday wishes to all the Bored Buddies, I would like to add special Christmas thanks to all UPS employees, especially those who work in Rexburg, Idaho.
By last Monday, all of Adventure Boy's presents had arrived at the UPS warehouse in Rexburg and been loaded on a truck for delivery. Then came snow, and more snow, and drifts of snow on top of that. Many highways were closed, including the road between Rexburg and Driggs. The trucks had to return to the warehouse with undelivered packages. On Tuesday, the roads remained closed. (In sparsely populated areas, "alternate routes" may not exist.) Yesterday, thanks to snowplows and/or the sheer determination of good folks, a brown UPS truck made it to Driggs and drove up to AB's house while he was in the process of digging out his truck. Presents! In time for Christmas!
I have no doubt that similar scenarios played out in hundreds of towns and cities across North America. I send warm and happy thoughts to every single person who helped make Christmas merrier for others in ways big and small.

YAY!
Looks like it got there in the (St) nick of time!
Today, the roads are closed again.
