This is done by Mike Lawrence one of the best players in the world for the last 40 years. There are 3 levels beginner, intermediate and advanced and each day provides hands, one to improve your biding skills and another to improve your play.
Merry Christmas to Mrs Dering

I second that. I check out the Level 1 and Level 2 bidding and play hands every day. --Bob

Not sure how much Pea's Mom is online or if she even owns a computer. I will second the recommendation. Well, I guess it's third now. :D

I too love that site and Mike Lawrence. I'm trying to think faster so I don't get the director called on me again when I have four different choices for a bid. Mike is brilliant in winnowing through the choices and coming up with the best possible bid and play. He indirectly convinced me to add Drury to my partnership agreement with my most frequent partner.

Here's a habit I'm trying to inculcate in my partner -- so far without success. When you pick up the hand, immediately ask yourself:

(1) What will I do if the bidding is passed to me?
(2) Is the hand worth a direct overcall?
(3) If partner opens at the one level and makes a minimum rebid, what will my first two bids be?
(4) If partner's bid (opening or response) hits my suit, is my hand minimum, invitational, or game forcing?

With a little practice, you can ask yourself and answer these questions before the dealer has the chance to get the first card out of the bidding box. And it will permit you to save time for when you really do need to think. --Bob

I will bookmark this and see how I do in walking her through it when I am back down there in March.

I'll take your advice and send it to my dad.

He just might be able to have you use it without yelling at her too much.

Maybe Robin will review it with her when she goes down next month.

Thanks for thinking of her.
