But I found this interesting.

For those of you who do not follow the show,
Spoiler
somebody nailed a showcase bid right to the dollar this past week. And, apparently, he had some within-the-rules help from an audience member.
There is a quite lengthy thread on a TPIR board regarding this episode. Discussion seems to be centering both on the incident itself, and on Drew's handling of the situation.

The "LFAT" acronym which shows up in some of the posts apparently stands for "Loyal Friend and True"; this appears to be the TPIR equivalent of our BBs. And this leads to why I am posting this here.

Let's just say that reading through the thread (15 pages when I checked it out) reminded me very much of some of the observations that have been made here over the years regarding the not-always-smooth relationship between the respective shows' production staffs and the shows' most loyal core constituencies...

How shocking!
Rick: How can you close me up? On what grounds?
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!
[a croupier hands Renault a pile of money]
Croupier: Your winnings, sir.
Captain Renault: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much.
