Maybe it's not such a wonderful life.

Above, a link to a reflection on the Frank Capra movie, making among other points the observation that Pottersville is exactly the kind of town George wanted to visit when he was young.

Thinking about the movie after watching it the other evening I decided that the events of George's life aren't that wonderful, at least not in the sense that every event is enjoyable and it all adds up to happiness- but what makes life wonderful (as far as the movie is concerned) is that what you and I do matters.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to look around for that $8000 I mislaid.
I am about 25% sure of this.

The last paragraph talks about a scene that made the writer tear up as a teen and still causes him to do so. That same scene gets me every time. In fact, I am a little misty right now. I started tearing up when I read that paragraph.
It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. —Albus Dumbledore

Have to admit, it gets me every time, too.
