Another of my articles for no one to care about

#1 Post by clem21 » Thu Dec 18, 2008 11:28 pm

http://media.www.qcknightnews.com/media ... 0357.shtml

It's about a former player at my college who signed with the a British Basketball League team. Interesting stuff especially since I had no idea it existed.

Good story, Clem. I am fascinated by the thought of British basketball. (Perhaps that's very provincial of me, but there you go.) I'm delighted it's providing opportunities for more Americans to keep their pro dreams alive, too.

Incidentally, stop saying things like "an article for no one to care about."

You post the link; we'll read it. We may or may not comment, but we care.

Watch out for the bossy ones, Clem.

Ha, who am I kidding. I love being bossy!

I agree w/ what SC and Pea said.

So, did you learn how to pronounce Leicester?

I'm guessing it's sort of like learning to pronounce Worcestershire?

Yes. The Brits like to put in what looks like extra syllables. Leicester only has 2 syllables.

Basically you could just say Lester.

And it is really good cheese!

Especially the red.

The kid next door played pro ball in the Netherlands. His favorite road trip was to Spain. There was 8 or 9 feet of breathable air in the gym. The rest, up to the lights, was cigarette smoke. Everyone was smoking: all over the age of 12, the other players, the referees (during timeouts), the coaches, everyone.

He would play in Spain (mainly on the plain) and go thru withdrawal for a coupla days...

There was an alumnus of my college who played American football in Switzerland. He has a Championship ring, too.

Heck--the real feat was learning how to spell "Wierzbicki"!

Good job, Joey!

We already know that! But since you're an egotistical jerk with a self-effacing sense of humor, you've separated yourself from the egotistical jerks who are just full-time assholes.

It's all good. :P
