So we were at lunch and discussing computer sutff and someone said she was helping her son with a French landmark report and learned that the young son was not allowed to google the Eiffel tower due to the content pulled up.
One of the guys knew what she meant right away and blushed.
I have NO idea what they were talking about.
It just show me page after page of info on the landmark.
Can someone clue me in?

I haven't seen the content, and I dare not search at work, but for Google, do you have Safe Search turned on?

I can think of two possibilities.
1. Google has a "SafeSearch" checkbox on their preference page. Perhaps someone turned off the filtering and found some explicit results?
2. Perhaps neither of them actually ever did this search, but simply assumed there would be a certain result?
But sometimes a monumental tower is just a monumental tower!

I don't know. If it was on when I loaded the Google Toolbar it is, if not no. I didn't change any settings.

Last time I answered a question for you, you said you wished you hadn't asked.
I'll give you a chance to back out first this time. Ha!

the urban dictionary will provide the answer. You might not want to go there.

One has to laugh that one of the guys knew what it was right away.

Adding "urban dictionary" to the search brings up the naughty definition immediately, but how many pages must one search down in the Google results without that before finding it accidentally?

Urban dictionary is even less reliable than Wikipedia. Now I have to go look and see if any of their definitions is le droit one.
And you probably have to go pages and pages. But some adult knows it and has a dirty mind, therefore outlawing the topic, therefore making all the kids look it up to find out what it is when, if they hadn't said anything, probably nobody would have even seen it. Because kids only do as much research as absolutely necessary. Unless there's the chance that they'll encounter lasciviousocity.

Maybe I should take another look at that thread where people were discussing a trip to Las Vegas and staying at Paris.

I had no idea what it meant either.
This is a first.
I think I'm proud of myself.

I will admit that I knew immediately what they meant.
I probably shouldn't have admitted that.
I will blame it on having friends whose minds spend a lot of time in the gutter.

I am in the uninformed camp.
I am staying there.
The last time I tried to get informed about such topics, I started getting porn e-mails. My penis size is just fine.
