Peter Falk Has Alzheimer's

This broke yesterday but some people may have missed it. Falk's daughter has applied for a conservatorship saying he no longer is able to recognize people. It's a shame; he's one actor who almost always turns in an enjoyable performance even in some very bad movies (and Columbo is one of the all time great TV characters).

Sorry to hear this. They say he had hip surgery. That stress can take a long time to wear off. Hope it does at least a bit.
Columbo is one of my favorite series characters -- the tics and foibles which define TV characters can get awfully old quickly, but his never did, to me.

I'm very sad as well. Fortunately we haven't experienced this in my family
yet, despite the fact my mom is 91 1/2.
