Political bellweather - and sports commentary

This story has been mentioned in the press, but I was there, so I get dibs on this.

Rudy Giuliani was booed at the Yankee game Monday night. Twice.

The first time was during a between-inning scan of the crowd. Tight shot of Rudy in his seat next to the Yankee dugout. Spontaneous cascade of boos. You would have thought he was Grady Sizemore. Camera makes jerky pan away, before cut to shot of another (anonymous) fan.

Then, during Ronan Tynan's rendition of God Bless America in the middle of the 7th inning, they put up a tight shot of Rudy again. He gets booed again - during "God Bless America" no less. Quick cut to long shot of Statue of Liberty.

If he's the GOP candidate, I will offer to clean the basement of anyone who's willing to bet Rudy carries NY.

Oh, while at the game, I had the thought that after singing, Ronan Tynan would walk over to the Yankee dugout and hand Joe Torre his pink slip. That didn't happen, but it may as well have.

Sure, if you're in a blimp.

NY or NYC?

If's he's the GOP and Hilary is the Dem, I 'spect a whole lot of people from NY, C or S, will want a NOTA option.

Yes, if that happens, kill me now.

If people think W's administration rides roughshod over the law, wait till they get a load of Rudy....

I would not hate it if he got the nomination.

Not one bit.

Stories about divorces and mistresses and moving from Gracie Mansion into a home with 2 gay men and letting your wife know you are divorcing her at a press conference and being estranged from your kid.

Yeah, I won't hate that.
