I heard that they were looking for someone who lived upstate, a woman who has some strong convictions and is outspoken. My first thought was that you would fill the bill.

Honestly, is the political gene pool so thin in this country that we need to keep rotating and recycling Clintons and Bushes and Kennedys? Besides, what has Caroline Kennedy done that entitles her to that Senate seat?

I want to see a new face go to the Senate. Somebody like Andrew Cuomo (state attorney general), Byron Brown (mayor of Buffalo), or a House Representative like Carolyn Maloney or Louise Slaughter.

Personally, I want to see Louise Slaughter in the U.S. Senate because she's a Kentucky girl. :D The only disadvantage with Mrs. Slaughter, though, is that she will be 80 years old in August.

I say Paterson should just go ahead and nominate me. I would be awesome for New York and I could definitely get a fake ID that says I'm 30.
Show your support people! Clem for Senate - YES WE CAN!!!

Of course I'd have a problem when danielh starts searching for my birth certificate...sigh

If we're going to get our new senator involved in scandal, I say he should nominate Spitzer. He's already apologized for his scandal! :P

Seriously, Wall Street was a frequent target of his while he was NY Attorney General, so he might actually be a good person to have helping to oversee the financial bailout.

Some folks here seem older because they're cranky. Some because they're precociously mature. Some because they don't take themselves so darned seriously.

You could pass for 30 in the last category. I'd vouch for you!

That's demonstrably not true. Hillary became entitled to the seat by winning it in an election. Whatever Caroline Kennedy's other qualifications may be, that's not one of them. --Bob
