Probably my favorite all-time novel-It has been years since I mentioned it on the Bored to no-takers.

And to CATFISH and MELLY-Have you 2 "Tree Grows in Brooklyn" Fangirls yet read The Bones of Plenty?-If not get going-I am losing patience with you..

I have it on my Christmas list, along with Reapers of the Dust.

I am pretty sure I am going to get them, too.

I saw the movie version of "Something of Value" with Sidney Poitier years ago on Turner Classics but haven't seen it in years. I never did read the book.

Hmm, I must have missed those parts-I will have to reread it (LOL).

I never really thought of it in that way-But I can see what you mean as I think about it.

I guess what I really liked about it was the "MMBA" (Miles and Miles of Bloody Africa) stuff.

The references to the Northern Frontier District of Kenya just sang to me.

The sad part is that presumably all, or most, of the game in the NFD is probably gone.

Sorry, Spock, I know nothing about this book. I was making a joke referencing Clem's rant about his lit professor. It is interesting, however, that once mentioned, you do see a sexual theme in this work, where none was apparant before. Perhaps that is a lesson for Clem.
