Then about 20 minutes later, 81 per cent of the audience helped a bewilderingly cheerful woman lose £19,000 — apparently this was the highest ever wrong percentage in ‘Ask the Audience’.

This was despite the floor manager urging everyone at the start of the show not vote unless absolutely sure of the answer.

The bulk of the article is a complaint about some ethnic pejoratives used by the warm-up guy (one of which I had to Google) and some other insensitive jokes by him and host Chris Tarrant. But in the interest of ontopicosity, this is the part that interested me:

The warm-up guy specifically instructs the audience not to guess on the ATA. This is how it should be!

Actually it was. It was 81% for one wrong answer.
