WWTBAM Bored

The Radio City extravaganza was everything that it was billed to be. It included elements of The Nutcracker, Miracle on 34th Street, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and a life Nativity play (including sheep and camels), as well as a history lesson (the origin of the Rockettes), music, and, of course, dancing. A good time was had by all.

On Sunday evening our church held its annual "Hanging of the Green" worship service. Our sanctuary choir (of which I am a member) sang, the sanctuary was decorated with greenery and we lit our Chrismon tree. We also distributed our Advent meditation booklet, with daily devotionals written by members of our church, with photographs of the Chrismons taken by a church member. This morning the weather has taken a turn for the worse, with snow showers and "light accumulation" expected for the day.

Are you amongst those pictured on the last page of the PDF? I was intrigued at the similarity of the Christmas traditions that your Baptist church has and how closely it mirrors those of the Methodist church in which I was raised. It was nice to look at the pages and have some memories come back that I hadn't thought of in quite some time.
My mother is originally from Louisville. I'll have to ask her what the name of the Baptist church is that she attended while she lived there.

No, I'm obscured by the two ministers just to the right of center. My choir seat is on the back row near the organ console, which means that I'm generally not seen in photographs like these.
