Twilight

Did not come close to living up to the book.

Almost the entire theater laughed at most of the supposedly serious moments. Even the teenage girls were laughing at the "romantic" scenes.

Hyperventilating breathing, and nostrils flaring while gazing deeply into each others eyes. Gag!

It's $20.00 and 2 hours I'll never get back.

I wasn't gonna read the book but was talked into it by someone who reads very little "blood and guts." So I guess it'll be OK.

Oh dear. My oldest's girlfriend has read all of them and is sending them to me. Do I have to read them?

James says"I loved the movie, but they made it into a weird comedy but it was still good."

Probably not. I haven't been able to talk anybody into reading the Harry Potter books, unless they already wanted to read them anyway.

I loved the Harry Potter books. I've read an excerpt of a Twilight book and wasn't impressed. Will I like them?

No idea. The person who talked me into reading them did so on Thanksgiving Day and hasn't provided them yet.

I apologize, I've conflated the HP and Twilight books. I just meant you don't have to read anything somebody else thinks you should, or everybody I tried to talk into reading the HP books would have done so.

Well, I just thought, if they were similar in style I might like them. I'm never coerced into reading something I don't want to. I just am curious about whether I'll like the "style" of the books.

Good for you!

That's what I don't know. She did say Twilight was an easy read.

Beebs, the books are not too bad. You do need to give it some leaway, as it is aimed at teens, but I did enjoy them. I've read the first two, and James is borrowing the third from a friend for me.

The movie just dint translate well. The actors were really too old to play the parts with a modicum of believability.

That's sort of what I got from movie reviews I've read. Books are always better than movies, so I'll read them when I get them. Free books are always a good thing.

I read all four in four days. They weren't horrible. The first and fourth books were the best.

To me they were like reading a romance novel without the sex.

LOL! I think PSM successfully damned them with faint praise.
