Paul Johnson Is the Man

The last time Georgia Tech beat Georgia, Bill Clinton was still president. Our last coach, Sham Gailey, made a habit of 7-5 seasons ending up in bowl games played somewhere in the Rocky Mountains before Christmas. Now Gailey is showing his talent as offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs, proud holders of the second worst record in pro football.

No major schools wanted to take a chance on Johnson's run oriented offense, but Tech did and he proved his system can win at the highest level today. Against Georgia, Tech won by completing only one pass (on their very first play) but rushing for over 400 yards (only their third highest rushing total of the season). We may not be playing for the championship this year, but we have virtually everyone on offense back and I think we'll be in the running for a bigger championship next year.

And a word of warning to Appa and the other Husker fans out in Nebraska; it looks like Tech will be playing Nebraska in the Gator Bowl, so they'd better get ready to play.
