Lyrically Speaking Day 15 - 11/29/08

Friday's game is still open until noon Eastern today. Today's game will be open until Monday noon. Standard stuff today, one point each for artist and title. Many of these songs have been covered by a lot of people, so use whoever you like, I've got nobody to blame but myself. :-)

#1 below, btw, is one of my all-time favorite songs, at least the most iconic version. And #5 is also way up there.

1. I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to hold my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known

2. Oh, I need you by me
Beside me, to guide me
To hold me, scold me
'Cause when I'm bad I'm so, so bad

3. When I and my mother would disagree
To get my way, I would run from her to him
He'd make me laugh just to comfort me, yeah yeah
Then finally make me do just what my momma said

4. I was once like you are now
And I know that it's not easy
To be calm when you've found something going on
But take your time, think a lot
Why, think of everything you've got
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not

5.How well I remember
The look that was in his eyes
Stealing kisses from me on the sly
Taking time to make time
Telling me that he's all mine

6. Mott the Hoople and the game of LIFE (yeah yeah yeah yeah)
Andy Kaufman in the wrestling match (yeah yeah yeah yea)
Monopoly, 21, checkers and chess (yeah yeah yeah yeah)
Mr. Fred Blassie in a breakfast mess (yeah yeah yeah yeah)

7.Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end
Waitin' 'round the bend

8. Hey, baby, won't you take a little ride with me
Have a look around, see what we can see
I've got the paddle, I've got the boat
Come on, baby, I know she'll float

9. Many people
Don't understand (no, no)
They think loving (yeah yeah)
Is money in the hand

10. She's a witch of trouble in electric blue
In her own mad mind she's in love with you
With you
Now what you gonna do?
