Free Dr. Pepper

#1 Post by PlacentiaSoccerMom » Fri Nov 21, 2008 6:52 pm

Guns-N-Roses will be putting out chinese Democracy sometime before the end of this year, they've only being working on it since
1994.

Anyway. Dr. Pepper said they would give EVERYONE a free bottle if GNR released
the album this year. On Sunday, November 23, go to Dr. Pepper's web
site. There should be a coupon good for one 20oz bottle. The coupon will only be
available for 24 hours--however it will be good until February 2009.

You'd think 14 years and who knows how much plastic surgery would at least rate a six pack.
We, the HK Brigade, do hereby salute you, Marley, for your steadfast devotion to ontopicosity. Well done, sir!

I wonder if they'll include another snide comment about St. Louis in the liner notes....

Axl Rose is persona non grata here....

Eh, what's a bunch of chairs and a few noses between friends?

(I was speaking of broken noses in the melee, but I guess 'a few noses' now suits Axl as well. Ha!)

He's a political prisoner being held down by The Man! The Man is, of course, in the pocket of the Pepsi/Coke Cartel.

Oh yeah? Then why can you get Dr. Pepper just about anyplace that has Pepsi or Coke?

It seems to me that Dr. Pepper should be held for questioning in the disappearance of Mr. Pibb.....

Mr. Pibb died of neglect and bad taste. Yuck.

As in "Multiplicity", copies are seldom as good as the original.

The 24-hr promotion period has just started, and the servers are already pretty slow.

Good luck to anyone who tries to log in during the daytime.

You have to allow pop-ups from the site. The window that I opened is still loading, and I've gone for coffee, put in a DVD, talked to Rain Man, and caught up on posts in the iterim...

I'm pretty sure Dr. Pepper is a Coke product!

I just wonder why Vanilla Coke tastes so much better than Vanilla Pepsi (which I think was thankfully discontinued), but Cherry Pepsi tastes a million times better than Cherry Coke (which shows no sign of going anywhere)?

Nope. Dr Pepper is older than Coca-Cola. Was its own company for decades. Was bought by Cadbury/Schweppes a few years ago.

There may be some regions where distribution is still handled by the Coca-Cola Co.

We've been trying to get through on the web site all day, but finally we were able to call and request our free Dr. Pepper.

I got my coupon last night without problems or delay. I did react to the thread title sort of like Bob###s, though.

I don't know how it's handled regionally, but Dr. Pepper products are handled by its own seperate company here, the same one that distributes 7 UP, A&W Root Beer, Sunkist, etc. Our Dr. Pepper vendor is notorious for showing up in the middle of the night when we're closed to stock his shelves (The Pepsi gal shows up early in the morning, and the Coke guy.... well, he doesn't do too much business around these parts anyway... )

Dr. Pepper apparently allows other distributers to sell its product though, because you can get Dr. Pepper at KFC (which serves Pepsi) and McDonalds (Which serves Coke)....

Stephen got through upstairs and I got through here, but it took a while. He said he couldn't believe we would go through this just for a free soda, and I told him I was going to save my coupon as a souvenir of the madness. So now he'll tuck his in the cover of his Chinese Democracy CD which he'll get for Christmas.
