Wow. I paid $1.999 at an Exxon on Monday on my way to see my new office in Trenton. I was hoping for lower prices but only a couple of independants were lower, at $1.959, which wasn't worth it. The news crawl just said the average price is now $1.97 in New Jersey.

$1.72 I've cut about $100/month off my fuel costs. That should help offset the $40/month increase in my health insurance premiums.

First, they told us there would be no raises this year, giving us an effective pay cut. Then, they told us our premiums would increase, meaning that the amount in the paycheck will be less come January.

As of August 1, our premium is 900.00 per month. This is thru Teachers' Retirement of Illinois.

Prices have just this week dipped below $2.00/gallon in my MA/NH region. The MA prices are about to go up again, though. Instead of raising tolls on the Turnpike, they're talking about adding six cents to the state gasoline tax to help pay for the mismanagement of the Big Dig and the Turnpike Authority.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

WOW...I am surprised there is that much variation between mine and yours, usually we're more in the ballpark. Or at least I thought we were.

NY has high gas taxes; I don't know how they compare with CT. But on top of that, prices in Ithaca are always several cents higher than in other, nearby towns. They say it's the cost of transportation to our "Centrally Isolated" location, but I think the knowledge that we've got lots of Ivy League students here with big allowances from their folks may have more to do with it. :|

You guys really oughtn't be celebrating deflationary spirals, you know.

As much of a temptation as it is to do so.

Dow off another ~445 today- the temporary 8,000 floor has been breached big time.

Argh!

And that's nothing compared to my employer, which lost over 12% today. Down 75% since September--and we're having a good year!

Good thing my vacation is already paid for.

I do wish this drop had occurred before my trip to Michigan this summer. He paid around $4/gallon on that trek. Current prices would have saved me about $250.

There are reports of $1.59 in the Houston suburbs. $1.57 might be a winner.

I checked. There are reports of $1.41 in Independence, MO.

Figures. Gas is always cheaper in KC....

I still wanna know how I went from being the Bored "loser" to the Bored "winner" in a span of just 2 months. it isn't just Missouri, because we're at $1.78 on this side of the river, which is still a lot cheaper than what's being reported....

$1.79 when I was out today. Although it's always less on the other side of town (naturally).
