Wow. I paid $1.999 at an Exxon on Monday on my way to see my new office in Trenton. I was hoping for lower prices but only a couple of independants were lower, at $1.959, which wasn't worth it. The news crawl just said the average price is now $1.97 in New Jersey.

$1.72 I've cut about $100/month off my fuel costs. That should help offset the $40/month increase in my health insurance premiums.
First, they told us there would be no raises this year, giving us an effective pay cut. Then, they told us our premiums would increase, meaning that the amount in the paycheck will be less come January.

Prices have just this week dipped below $2.00/gallon in my MA/NH region. The MA prices are about to go up again, though. Instead of raising tolls on the Turnpike, they're talking about adding six cents to the state gasoline tax to help pay for the mismanagement of the Big Dig and the Turnpike Authority.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

NY has high gas taxes; I don't know how they compare with CT. But on top of that, prices in Ithaca are always several cents higher than in other, nearby towns. They say it's the cost of transportation to our "Centrally Isolated" location, but I think the knowledge that we've got lots of Ivy League students here with big allowances from their folks may have more to do with it.sunflower wrote:WOW...I am surprised there is that much variation between mine and yours, usually we're more in the ballpark. I do wish this drop had occurred before my trip to Michigan this summer. He paid around $4/gallon on that trek. Current prices would have saved me about $250.

I still wanna know how I went from being the Bored "loser" to the Bored "winner" in a span of just 2 months. it isn't just Missouri, because we're at $1.78 on this side of the river, which is still a lot cheaper than what's being reported....
