I've been thinking about the bandwagon.

I know...I know...I don't have time to think. I have three little girls. One of them is almost 18 months old. And I have an Elijah to rehearse for! And I have a big solo coming up to sing on December 14. The song is "Mary, Did You Know?". I'm not a big Gaither/Mark Lowry fan but this song it fab. The words are tremendous. But I digress.
I've been thinking about how easy it is to just jump on the bandwagon. The Bush hating Bandwagon. The Obama is a Marxist-Socialist-leftist bandwagon. The Palin is a nutcartoonstupidbeyotchbazillondollarwardrobeRussiafrommyhouse bandwagon. The Cheney eats libs for dinner bandwagon and so on. It's just so stinking trite.
When on earth are people gonna start thinking for themselves? When are we gonna stop letting the Rush Limbaugh/Ed Schultz/Keith Olbermann/Sean Hannity/Rachael Maddow's of the world tell us how to think?
I mean, it's just too easy to say "I hate Bush" or "Obama is a communist" or "Palin is a crazy beyotch".
A lot of you peeps need to start thinking for yourselves and quit jumping on the bandwagon cuz bandwagon jumping is just too easy.

REC to jumping on the Toque bandwagon!
Toque: have you heard the version of "Mary, Did You Know" by Kathy Mattea? I highly recommend it.

Now I have to jump on the bandwagon because you told me not to- but you also told me to think for myself.
But if I jump on a bandwagon, I won;t be thinking for myself, but then I'll be doing what you told me, but...
BOOOM- my brain just exploded.

One of my favorite musicals.
Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse, Oscar Levant, Nanette Fabray, Jack Buchanan.
"Triplets"
"I Guess I'll Have to Change My Plan"
"That's Entertainment"
Tomorrow, let's think about "Singing in the Rain."

You mean none of these are true??
I listen to no talk radio. Both sides tend to be too shrill nowadays. I sometimes listened to David Brudnoy, who at least argued coherently even if you didn't agree with his view, and to Paul Sullivan, who was funny even if you didn't agree with his view. Since they've both died, my radio is tuned almost exclusively to music stations.
Now I listen to the local and network news, read the paper, read US News & World Report (not for much longer, sadly) and try to sift the wheat from the massive amounts of chaff to form my own opinions. I think the last bandwagon I jumped on was for a sports team. Whatever I express here or elsewhere, I like to think it's based on facts. If I'm shown facts that indicate I'm wrong, I'll change. I guess that makes me a potential flip-flopper. So much for my political career.

If I do say so, that baby in my avatar is a real cutie.
My Olivia is almost 18 months and she's about as cute as they come. She knows all the little tricks. Bye bye, peekaboo, soooo-big, etc. She loves to grab something she's not supposed to have (like my keys) and run as fast as she can (not very fast) away from me whilst giggling the whole time.
She looks at me with those big blue eyes and she melts my heart. I just love her.
