If it can't be Jeff, I am glad that it's Hugh.

Not too bad. I guess they missed all your campaigning for Clive, huh?

Taylor Kitsch would have been a good choice as well.

Yet again, JJ Cale gets totally robbed.

Sigh, there's always next year......

Hugh is fabu, except in Van Helsing.

It is obvious that there are tremendous holes in my knowledge of pop culture (after about 1995, anyway) . . .

My first thought was "Hugh Grant?" Then I thought, "That can't be right." So I checked the link and had to think a minute before I realized who Hugh Jackman was.

It's just sad, isn't it?

I even liked him in Van Helsing. He wore leather and long hair.

The night I tried out for WWTBAM, I saw him in "The Boy From Oz." Hugh Hefner showed up with his bimbos, er, girlfriends.

Haven't you seen the X-Men movies? He's Wolverine. (He will also be in X-Men Origins with Taylor Kitsch as Gambit.) He's also in Kate and Leopold which is one of my favorite movies.

I loved Van Helsing!

But I see that PSM already posted the main reason for that opinion. Ha!

How come their sexiest people are almost always "alive"? I wonder why they make that distinction.

I will confess (although I am certainly no Confessor), that I have not seen the X-Men movies. They, particularly the first one, are on my list of movies that I should have seen but somehow have not and that I need to see soon (along with Gone With the Wind - wouldn't that be a strange double feature?)

Kate and Leopold was an enjoyable film, but I did not remember who played Leopold (although I did remember Meg Ryan was Kate).

I, too, enjoy Kate and Leopold, but wish they'd left in the deleted scene from the cab. If you have the DVD, you know which one I mean. The look on Ryan's face was just perfect.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I really liked him in The Prestige with Christian Bale, Michael Caine and David Bowie. A very underappreciated film that had the misfortune of being the second movie released in a short period of time about the same obscure subject matter (turn of the century magicians; The Illusionist did better at the box office).

I wonder if his appearance on Viva Laughlin had anything to do with his winning the award. It was on the air all of two episodes.

I thought maybe it was Hugh Laurie. I know some females who think Laurie is super sexy. I think Jackman makes much more sense as the pick.

Maybe that's because The Illusionist was a better movie.

IMO, of course.

Plus, I think that Paul Giamatti can just about do no wrong. And before you ask, yes, I did like him in Lady in the Water.

That's not to say I didn't like The Prestige. I did.

The Illusionist was a Love Story/Mystery.
The Prestige was a Hate Story/Mystery

Funny you should say that. I was going to defend my love of Van Helsing by saying something along the lines of 'it's not like I'm saying I liked The Prestige or anything." Ha!

It started off really well and I love most of the cast (and they did good jobs in it). It's just that by the end it sort of collapsed in on itself.

I only saw one episode of Viva Laughlin (that I can remember) but I liked it. Even though about the only thing I remember of it was Hugh Jackman singing (sorta) Sympathy for the Devil.

Well, maybe you'll have to share it with Jim Kelly. Ha!
