From Wikipedia. I have no idea how much of this is true. Just a comparison with the apparently unstellar record of a former candidate for Veep and former Presidents.

Biden said it was inadvertent due to his not knowing the proper rules of citation, and he was permitted to retake the course after receiving a grade of F, which was subsequently dropped from his record.[15] He was admitted to the Delaware Bar in 1969.[14]

Biden received five student draft deferments during this period, with the first coming in late 1963 and the last in early 1968, at the peak of the Vietnam War.[16] In April 1968, he was reclassified by the Selective Service System as not available for service due to having had asthma as a teenager.[16] Biden was not a part of the anti-Vietnam War movement; he would later say that at the time he was preoccupied with marriage and law school, and that he "wore sports coats ... not tie-dyed".[

Well I can vouch for him on law school being a huge bore...I don't even know how I made it through a year, I switched to business school after one year and eventually formally dropped out of law school. I give kudos to anyone who makes it through...even more credit if someone truly enjoys it!!!

I thought law school was a blast, but that was partly because I refused to take it too seriously.

I thought Grad School was boring.

I was just bored, bored, bored every day. And I'm not the type of person to study...so doing the one exam is 100% of your grade thing didn't work for me. The only parts I liked were the practical/competition type things such as moot court and the client advocacy competition. But just sitting in a classroom and listening to blah blah blah when I knew I had 3 months before I'd be tested on it didn't work for me.

Business school was fun for me but we had a lot more real life stuff going on, I found it to be more engaging.

See what a nice discussion we're having based on my stupid initial post? Why can't we do that all the time?

Of course, I can't contribute anything about law school or MBAness because I'm only a lowly BA sort.

I only had to pursue some sort of graduate degree because I initially majored in Psychology. About 3 years in, I decided it wasn't for me but the guidance was that I was better to finish within 4 years and do a graduate level degree in another field (instead of taking 5 or 6 years to switch to a new undergraduate major).

And it can always be this way, if you hang with the right peeps!

Dude! Our youngest is getting his degree in psychology. I think he's going to go to work as a landman if he can get the job.

What is a landman? I don't think I've ever heard of that before.

Working for an oil/gas exploration company, securing leases and doing title work and stuff like that. A lot of travel into the boondocks, but extraordinarly good pay. A good job for a young person. If it happens. Or, maybe graduate school, although he doesn't fancy loans.

That sounds interesting, yeah I guess up here I wouldn't really hear about jobs like that, more of a regional thing. He can always go to grad school later, maybe even find an employer to pay for it. If he can get a great job (that pays great too) there is not as much pressure for an advanced degree. I just paid off my loans, 8 years later, and was only able to pay them off because I was on Millionaire!!

We've discussed corporate psychology and things like that. From what he's said I don't know if he'd like it, but if it were a stepping stone, who knows. He's definitely inherited the "shingle hanging out" that I have carried for many years. You know, the one where every disfunctional weirdo feels it necessary to talk to YOU. NOW. (sorta like here)
