the Big XII rules correctly, if Oklahoma loses to Okie State next week, and Texas loses to A&M, then the South representative in the Big XII Championship game would be the team ranked highest in the BCS standings after next weekend.
I think that would probably still be the Sooners, but Texas might sneak past them

If OU wins next week, they go to the Championship even if Texas wins because they beat Texas. If OU loses and Texas Wins, Texas goes.

If somehow OU & UT were to both drop out of the BCS rankings, the Champion would be determined by random draw between OU, UT, & OSU.

I think the BCS computer just shorted out. ''
When you say championship...what are you saying? I guess I could go look it up, but now I'm confused. Does the Big 12 have a championship game like the SEC and the random draw would decide who would go to the Big 12 championship game?

I'll still pull for Baylor, however it all ends up..
Any school that kicks out Tom DeLay from now on will replace Baylor as my favorite school, though.
I never said I wasn't fickle, you know.

Yes, I am talking about which team from the South Division will appear in the Big XII Championship game.

More importantly it should all but rule out any lingering chance that the Big 12 South champion could go to the meaningless BCS championship game. They would still get the automatic BCS if they win the championship game over Kansas/Missouri but that is about the best they can do.
But if the Big 12 North champ wins the Championship game then OU just gave which ever team it is a huge opening to play in the meaningless BCS championship game.
If KU can go the rest of the way undefeated I would be willing to recognize them as the "National Champion" despite their very weak early schedule and the lack of a playoff.
But given the way this season has gone it will be hard to recognize any other team as the true champ, including LSU, without a real playoff system.
P.S. They really, really need to get rid of the stupid rule that lets coaches call a time out a split second before a field goal attempt. It is just plain stupid. Line 'em up, have the ref look at both benches and see if they want a time out and if not then kick the damn kick!

I agree with your P.S. 100%. Surely they'll take care of this next year.
