A wet weekend has given way to a cold week with temperatures to hover around the 40-degree mark during the days and sub-freezing at night. Yes, winter has arrived in the Ohio valley.

My local transit company is playing "hide and seek" with its bus stops again. A year ago they changed the route of the bus I ride to work so that it no longer ran through my subdivision, meaning I had to go much farther to get to the stop. Last week I noticed that the sign for the stop where I've been catching it was missing, so I asked the driver this morning if the stop was being moved. She said yes because of complaints about traffic backups during school hours (the stop is located in front of a Catholic school and across the street from a public school). She couldn't tell me where the new stop would be located, but it may be as much as half a mile further from home than the one I'm using now. This will not be a good thing. I've already registered a complaint.

You're sharing your weather with us. We had the same sort of weekend and our forecast is the same.

As much as I hate moving, I wish I had found a job someplace warmer.

We've got snow showers in the forecast all week. I just don't want any lake effect on Friday morning, when I'm flying out of Syracuse for Orlando!

It was almost 80 on Saturday. Just beautiful and balmy as I was pumping the water off the pool cover and wishing it weren't closed, but knowing if it were opened I'd have had three feet of leaves to contend with. Then the front came through about when our tornado watch expired, bringing another load of rain and leaves to the cover. And a thirty degree drop in temperatures. Ick.

Mini-me left his jacket at school for the 23,368th time this year and didn't want his coat so soon, so I hope his sweatshirt will be enough. He gets cold like I do....

Why do they do that? I get so cold when he doesn't wear a hoodie or jacket on cold days!

Rain Man is impervious, so I don't worry about him TOO much when I find he ran off to school in a T-shirt and no sweatshirt and it's in the 40's in the morning ("I'm only at the bus stop a short time!") But Mini-me wears socks to bed and snuggles under an electric blanket on the couch while eating his breakfast, so I know that even if it's warm enough to come home sans jacket, he's sure gonna miss it the next morning!

year round. We have to make her put on socks and shoes when it's really cold.
