Feeling ever so crafty today....I made wool dryer balls. Allegedly you can use these in lieu of fabric softener. Anyone ever tried them before?

I don't own a dryer. Should I hang a whole sheep on the clothesline?

Someone told me that you can just soak cotton in liquid fabric softener and that you can use that instead of dryer sheets. I could never go without fabric softener, I love the smell. But my dryer vent guy yells at me for using sheets, I guess they use animal fat in them and that sticks inside the vent and lint sticks to it and that's how fires start.

My solution is to get it cleaned annually and endure the lecture, rather than stop using the sheets.

For some reason, I really like the liquid stuff.

I prefer the liquid in the rinse water, too. Perhaps this is a form of rebellion against my mother, who used the sheets -- and reused them until they were shredded, many loads beyond the time they did any good. I'm sure her thriftiness saved a good $3.32 over any given decade.

Maybe she was saving them in her luggage.

You would be a good son, as you clearly understand the important things in her life. I will send her your phone number.

Fuzzy and woolen? That's just crazy talk. My balls are made out of rubber and covered with spikes.

I've always thought Snuggle Bear was the cutest, but only in the adverts. Somehow they couldn't convey that cutieosity to the stuffed version. I think part of it is the speech.

I thought this was going to be about tennis.

And, speaking of tennis, I am excited that my town is finally getting some tennis courts. Forney is building a new city park area with 12 soccer fields (which may double as football fields for youth football), 4 baseball diamonds and 3 tennis courts. It's probably not enough courts, but 3 is better than zero.
