This just hours after Philadelphia and Cincinnati play to the first regular season tie in six years. What a weird day in the NFL.

If I had not let my subscription to Baseball Reference's Play Index expire, I'd check and see if the Pirates and Padres had ever played an 11-10 game....

I've seen one 11-10 game that I remember, though that was between the Cardinals and Orioles (Who have only ever played 3 regular season games against each other, so it'd be easy to know which one I was at)...

Wonder if Las Vegas ordered the review of that final TD that was overturned (that the refs admitted they botched)?

Just FYI- Steelers were favored by 5....and I saw a website that said the betting action went about 70/30 on the Steelers to cover.

Taking away the TD meant the Steelers didn't cover.

Big Deal. It'll happen again before another 12,837 games go by...

You don't need a subscription to the play index. Go go to the Team Game Results link on the main page, then go to Head-to-Head Game-by-Game results. For the record, the Padres and Pirates have never played an 11-10 game.

One of the two or three best games I ever attended was when the Phillies beat the Mets 11-10 in late August '07. The Phils came back from down 10-8 in the 8th (after having led 5-0 and 8-5!) to pull it out in the bottom of the 9th.

That rally completed a highly improbable 4-game sweep. And though New York still had the edge in the division, it was that series which was the start of the Phillies clearly getting into the heads of the Mets... a huge factor in the Mets' epic collapse that September (if not this one, as well).

Considering that the '07 division race went down to the last day, it's certainly arguable that particular 11-10 game may have completely changed the current fortunes of both franchises.

(And yes, I kept score... the chance of recording a game like that is precisely why I always do.)
