Tornado watch?!
I just got an alert saying there's a tornado watch for the southern half of New Jersey until 9 PM tonight.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

I got that alert too. But its only in affect until 7PM here in Monmouth county.

Tornado watch here, too.
Until 7 p.m. or 9 p.m. -- I've seen both.
We are going to head downstairs, in case we do need to get into the crawlspace. We have family pictures and Denise with us.

Tornado Watches have been issued for much of the Mid-Atlantic Coast from North Carolina to western Massachusetts, including the cities of Albany, N.Y., New York, Philadelphia, Trenton, N.J., and Richmond, Va.
The cause of the stormy weather is a collision of two storm systems. The first disturbance is moving north along the Atlantic Coast bringing a surge of very moist air north. An approaching cold front is starting to slide in from the Midwest tonight, producing scattered thunderstorms along the Atlantic coast
The southern Mid-Atlantic and Carolina coast stand the best chance at severe weather today. Large hail and damaging winds are likely and isolated tornadoes can`t be ruled out along the Virginia and Carolina coast.
The storm system has a history of producing tornadoes earlier today in North Carolina. Officials confirm one person died when a home was destroyed by a tornado near Elm City, N.C. before 4 a.m. this morning. The other North Carolina cities that had unconfirmed reports of tornadoes overnight include Dunn, Benson, Smithfield, Kenly and Lucama.
Rainfall will be heaviest along the East Coast today. Amounts in excess of one inch are likely from the South Carolina coast northward into eastern New England. To the west of the Appalachian ridge, rainfall will be over one half inch from Morgantown, W.Va., to Cleveland.
