I am taking a vacation day because I have a few to use up before the end of the year.

I have been cleaning the kitchen, but my enthusiasm is begining to fail.

Must be the sink full of dishes.

I think it's the fact you know it's going to take less than half the time it took for it to get done for it to get undone again...
