A friend of mine (and an accomplished Jeopardy contestant) was set to appear this season - but the day they picked for him was bad (and it sounds like it was the one bad day in a two week period for him). Have they really taped the whole season? It would stink if he couldn't get on.

Now that they start a little earlier, I'd think they could finish taping by Thanksgiving.

The website leaves little doubt about this:

We have completed taping our 2008 season of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Tapings of our upcoming season will be posted on our website in June of 2009. Thank you for visiting our website and we hope to see you next season.

What's the reference to a PAF? Was he your PAF when you were on, or were you planning to be his, or what?

Yes, last Friday was the final taping day of the season. They'll begin again July.

So, because I'm also in mourning for another lost season, what was it that made the taping date he was offered unacceptable for him?

He had an unavoidable work conflict.

Well, my PAF was another boardie. But, yes, the plan was that I be his PAF.
