Just because some other dog is a bad driver, my mom thinks I would be, too. Grrr.

I think you would be a fabulous driver, Annie.
I bet your Mom will come around if you can keep her away from those scary articles.

First thing first: That pic of you in your avatar is too cute for words. Almost too cute period....I think I'm developing diabetes just looking at it, but I'll live with the consequences, since it's so darn cute.
But sweetie, it's not that you'd be a bad driver, it's that
a: you probably can't reach the pedals and see over the dash and
second: you don't have opposable thumbs.
Maybe your mom can find one of those electric mini-cars to give you a shot at it before trying the real thing, so you can see if you like it. My mom used to take me on a ride in an amusement park called "The Turnpike" where I could drive when I was a kid. It was a lot of fun, but now that I've been driving for about 30 years, it's kind of lost its shine.

Thankfully, as a professional artist, I can give your mom a hand adn get rid of that annoying green eye. As you can see below.....
Of course, when I saw how that looked, I had to use a little more creative license.....
There is a much more asthetically pleasing avatar for you to upload. I'm sure we will all be able to sleep a little better at night if you switch it out.....

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

Evil Squirrel, those pictures are mean! Meanmeanmean. You have a jealous and petty soul. You are the kind of insignificant and disrespectful "artist" who would spray paint a mustache on the Mona Lisa and a skull tattoo on the statue of Mr. David.Evil Squirrel wrote:Annie, that avatar gives me the creeps! My eyes are glowing green in my photo because I was thinking pictures onto the backs of someone's eyelids. Those eyelids were a long distance away, so I had to think hard. Thus, my eyes glow like a laserlight installed in an IMAX projector.

Mr. Killer, thank you very much for your concern, but I think I have everything figured out.KillerTomato wrote:AnnieCamaro wrote: But sweetie, it's not that you'd be a bad driver, it's that

First, I can too see over the dash and the steering wheel. I am a very tall girl, and I have excellent posture. If I couldn't reach the foot pedals easily, I would make Lizbit stay down in front of the seat. Compared to me, she's little. She'll fit. I would tell her when to press the gas, the brake, and the clutch. She's learning how to press things in her tricks class, so we can put that skill to good use.
You are correct that I don't have opposable thumbs, but I do have opposable teeth that serve the same purpose in almost every circumstance. The only tricky part will be moving the gear shift lever, which has a nice leather-covered ball I can bite into, but is located on a console between the front seats. I mean, I can do it, but I will have to bend down to do it, so I won't be able to see over the dashboard while I'm shifting. (Ooh. I hope no squirrels run into the street right then!) What I don't get is, if two-footers are so darn smart, why didn't one of them invent a car where you can just start it and go, without having to worry about the clutching and shifting? That's what I would do, if I had opposable thumbs and didn't have to spend a lot of time on school and my opera.
Thank you for your compliment, BTW, which I didn't quote, because I didn't want to sound egotistical. I'm not that kind of girl.

They do have those kind of cars, Annie. They are called "Automatics". I have one. I do think, though, that part of your Mom's reluctance to have you drive, is that your track record with vehicles, is not very good for her health.

I didn't know. I've never seen a car like that or, at least, never been inside one. I apologize to all two-footers for thinking that none of them had ever thought of such a sensible idea. Home School High School didn't offer a driver's education course, or I might have learned this there.a1mamacat wrote:

Miss Annie, herjosie is practically climbing up my arm and insisting that I tell you she volunteers to sit on the dashboard and act as your "eyes" while you bend down to operate the gear shift lever. She fits very nicely on dashboards, but refuses to bob her head up and down.AnnieCamaro wrote: You are correct that I don't have opposable thumbs, but I do have opposable teeth that serve the same purpose in almost every circumstance. I like those ideas you have for enhancing those so-called classic works of art. I will have to attempt those someday as soon as I am done with the picture of the dogs playing strip poker....AnnieCamaro wrote:Evil Squirrel, those pictures are mean! Meanmeanmean. I better not ever see a pair of green glowing eyes staring up at me in my tree, or I might never come out again! You may want to have the vet check that out.....
