top o' the mornin'®

#1 Post by earendel » Thu Nov 06, 2008 8:08 am

I'm not sure why, but there was a special spring in my step this morning as I wended my way to work. Usually I just trudge toward the building and go inside, but not today - I seemed "irrationally exuberant". It's not because I got more sleep than usual or did anything out of my ordinary routine, but whatever it was, I liked it.

I've had the same feeling for a couple of days now, and I knew I hadn't done anything that could account for this change. As I read your post, ear, I realized it wasn't just me, that a number of people felt like this. And then I realized that something had happened to lift everyone's spirits. And when I realized the widespread glee, I knew exactly what it was.

Texas Tech #2! and if our neighbors to the east take care of that mean ol Nick Saban and his team, and we show the Cowboys whut fer, the Red Raiders are #1!! Wooooooooooo-hooooooooooo.

Go Tech!
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

Yes. Saban must be stopped.

The last time the ESPNGameday crew was in Baton Rouge and LSU was facing a #1 team was back in the 90's when we beat Florida.

Let's all root a Tiger win, okay?

Oh yeah...If the tigers cannot be #1 then I guess it's okay for Texas Tech to be #1.

Just as long as the following teams are not #1:

Alabama
Ole Miss
Florida
Texas

I'm pretty sure that's not it - especially since I'm rooting for OSU this week against Tech, and then for OU against Tech in two weeks.

Actually I think I know what it is - last night our choir started its preparations for Advent, my favorite season of the Church year.

I'll borrow some of whatever it is. We've got this dreary coastal storm here, so although the temperatures are nice, the skies are overcast and just blah.

I have my Snickers and Baby Ruths to get me through this....

There will be no chanting of that mantra in my household.

Yay, Hokies!

I've been meaning to ask T-bone if he'd seen anything to indicate that there's a chance of Bruuuuuuuce not being inducted as a Bill. I think I'll just leave it lying in here and see how much of the posts he actually reads. Ha!

I like Tech all right because that's my man Welker's school. It was only an added bonus that my nephew is a very obnoxious Texas fan (but aren't they all?). So I was cheering with much gusto basically to annoy him and brought out the guns to counter his stupid horns.

Double added bonus that he thought the game was won and started gloating just a skosh too soon.......ha!

Someone we know bought Bruce's house a while back, and he had a room done up in Bills colors. It took FOREVER to paint over that stuff! When you meet him in person, the man is seriously huge. But a nice guy.
