Apologies if this was posted already, I haven't seen it.

I found out last night from a friend who works at Tweeter that they are also going to be closing their remaining stores and liquidating the merchandise.

Things are looking brighter and brighter for Best Buy every day!!


(NECN) - Electronics retailer Tweeter is going out of business.

The Massachusetts-based company is blaming the tough economy and stiff competition.

This comes a year and a half after Tweeter filed for Chapter Eleven bankruptcy protection.

Tweeter used to have a pretty decent presence in this area -- the outdoor/indoor concert facility along the Camden (NJ) waterfront was the Tweeter Center. The one near us always had a nice number of cars in front.

That's why I thought they'd already gone out of business when they closed their stores here.

Also not a surprise. They were good when flat screen TVs were new and big ticket items. As the prices dropped, they couldn't compete with the Big Box places and only were useful if you wanted ginormous sets (like 6' or bigger).
