The reposting of its greatest parody.....

Subject: The Ravin'

Once upon this Go Board dreary, as I nodded, weak and weary.
Graying PC's we should all ignore.
While I sat there, idly scrolling, wond'ring what TomMitch was polling.
Suddenly I saw unfolding, threads that made some people sore-
Politics had hit the Go Board, op'ning up the door:
----------------"Vote for Bush and not Al Gore"

The day before Election Day, the other side would have its say,
Telling us the reasons we all should vote for Gore:
"Can't you see that Bush is dumb? He likes to drive with Demon Rum.
"If he weren't his daddy's son he'd fall flat on the floor.
"If he wins, first thing he'll do is wage war on the poor.
----------------"Forget that dummy, vote for Gore."

The GOP said, "Gore's a liar! Liar, Liar, pants on fire!
"Lies so much we cannot keep the score!
"Voting for the G-O-P will send Gore back to Tennessee.
"He's just as bad as Hillary! He's rotten to the core.
"Do what's best for all of us and show him out the door.
----------------"Please don't give your vote to Gore."

Gore fans said "Bush has no clue, he has no thoughts of what to do."
He doesn't know what government is for.
"With Bush in charge our rights will fade-- overturning Roe v. Wade--
"Social Security he will raid, so fat cats can have more.
"He'll spend four years abusing us with stuff we all deplore.
----------------"Bush is Evil, unlike Gore."

I searched all through this Board from Go, I searched for postings on the show.
I searched and searched and then I searched some more.
Politics was in the air, politics was everywhere.
Politics lay at the core of all these posts on Bush and Gore.
And no one had a word to say about the show that I adore.
----------------All I found was "Bush!" and "Gore!"

Several posters grew quite bossy (not the cats-- they're A-1 Saucy).
Soon the preaching turned into a roar.
I looked around and found no haven, free from all the rants and ravin':
Where was old TubaDave n' all his Q-O-Ds galore?
All I found was lots of posts on Bush and Gore.
----------------Only that, and nothing more.

If Gore's margin had been fatter, Florida wouldn't really matter,
Tuesday would've seen the end to war.
Had Gore won in Tennessee, it would have sealed his victory,
But it wasn't meant to be-- Bush rolled up a higher score:
Quoth Gore's home state, "Never Gore."
----------------that sad answer, nothing more.

What happens now, no one can tell: We're all now trapped in Electoral Hell.
Gore or Bush, or Bush or Gore: it hardly matters anymore.
I have no doubt more posts will fly (we cannot let this issue die),
The side one takes upon this Board depends upon whose ox is Gored.
One may fall upon his sword, and let the other's fortunes soar.
----------------My vote goes to: Never More.
