WWTBAM Bored

Okay, I must be calm. I must not fly off the handle. I must not act like a crazy person. It will be fun, fun, fun!!!

Right after I posted the message that Madamemeisha and I would be on the same day, the mystery of when my other tape group members will air was solved. I CARRYOVER TO NOVEMBER 24 FOR SPECIAL PROGRAMMING (Movie week???)!!! AAAACCCCHHHHH!!!


The reason this is a tragedy (besides trying to ward off questioners for THREE MORE WEEKS) is that I had my viewing party all set for Nov. 12. And trust me, it was a challenge to get everyone together on that date. I have literally invited several hundred people (many are current/former badminton players and current skating students who won't all come, but I still have to undo the invite) to come, made arrangements with my location, arranged for a good quality taping of the show, etc.

My BIG question is why didn't WWTBAM let me know this when they sent the first message over a week ago. I let her know my party date early last week. If I had known before Thursday, it would have been a mild inconvenience instead of a big one.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions other than just going back to the drawing board?

Since you say you're carrying over, does that mean your air date begins this Friday? I'm so sorry all your plans are foiled by the PTB.

With the viewing party on the 12th - not the date of her show, so really, the viewing party could be 3 months later like someone else I know.

I'm not being very sympathetic, am I?

They must have had a carry over from movie week, who needed a little extra time, and you guys fit in after that. It's just a guess but that's what happened on my second tape date. They didn't tape a full show # 3, they started mid-way, to leave space for a carry over group from couples week. In that situation, the people who got put in that show aired a full 3 months before I did.

I have some amount of sympathy, but many of us have been through it. And many others out there WISH that they could have such problems as these!!

Hang in there and just roll with it...it's not worth the stress, this is supposed to be a fun experience. You will reschedule the party and blame it on BAM and everyone will love you just the same. It's not like they delayed your critical heart transplant!

Okay, I think I'm coming out of my twist over the date change, but wanted to explain a bit so I don't sound like a TOTAL whiner, which I know I was being the other day. However, I felt like all the air was sucked out of the room when I read that message the other day. I've now gone to an oxygen bar (isn't that what we should do in CA?) and regained my sanity.

Fortunately, the show people were able to ease my anxiety over another issue regarding this so that has helped. I think I overreacted a bit because this is like my wedding/wedding reception, baby shower, graduation party, etc. Unlike many people, I've never had any of those so this is my BIG DEAL in life. Even though it wasn't actually cancelled, at that moment in time, it almost felt like it was.

To clear up the other mystery about my actual air dates as it seems many people missed that post, the first part airs for me tomorrow (Nov. 7) with the conclusion coming on Nov. 24. There are to be two weeks of specialty shows in between. That is what I didn't know about prior to scheduling my viewing party.

So that's it for now. I hope no one feels like I was too carried away when so many people don't get this chance. Trust me, I KNOW the value of this whole experience to all of us.

After I got done crying, I cried some more.
