Novel Update

I just completed the first draft of novel #2. It's a young adult story, written in first person, coming in at just over 75K words. It took me about a year to get from Chapter 1 to The End. The tentative title is The Centerpoint.

I'll start the arduous task of editing after I take a short break from it. There are some plot lines that went nowhere and some characters that need improvement. Typical stuff.

What's it about? A young man finds that a local Native American legend may not be a legend after all.
(If I try to explain anymore it'll just sound crazy)

As for novel #1 (The Memory Box), there is still some agent interest and it's out there making the rounds. It's a slow business.

So guess what I do now?
Spoiler
Start novel #3, of course!

LOL! We wouldn't have it any other way!

Congrats on making it as far as you have on Novel #2. I still hope Novel #1 manages to strike gold somewhere because it was a good story, even if it wasn't quite what the experts wanted....

And good luck on #3.....

Best of luck with all three. Sounds like you're taking the classic route of writing, writing and more writing.

I just started a collection of essays by John Scalzi, a writer of SF and many other items. He writes about writing in his blog, scalzi.com/whatever. It's not a how to, but about the act of writing as well as the business stuff, like getting money for it and paying the mortgage. Nice easy style, and fun to read.
