WWTBAM Bored

This big house looks perfect on the outside and is FILLED up with junk all the way to the ceiling. The grown children arrived home and burst into tears (their mother hadn't really let them in in recently years)...

I find this in my decluttering business. It's shocking how many people live like this ...

My piles of papers and stuff aren't nearly up to the ceiling, so I guess I'm okay, then!

What would be the problem for you? Couldn't you just float right through them anyway?

I'm not quite there, and I have uncluttered more since we moved to a house with no attic, but I have to say that I find the act of uncluttering hard.

I would much rather go to the dentist. Actually I like my dentist a lot.

I admire people who can have an uncluttered house and everything in a place and can find stuff and have all the stuff they need and don't have regrets because they gave away stuff they wish they kept.

This is what Oprah just told people not be be arrogant about. She warned that many people have some version of this and that just because they are not this bad, does not mean they will not benefit from decluttering.

It is amazing for me - it's like watching my m-i-l.

When the son said they hadn't visited in 5 years because there was no place to sit - that could have been me talking about my m-i-l's house when I first met her.

That is why the Baboo and I have so few visitors. They can't get around the clutter. If I ever have that long awaited yard sale for my stuff, it will have to be held on a football field.
