My stupid cable company

I have Charter Communications cable. They recently decided that GSN is no longer on their basic cable list. They sent all the subscribers a letter that said that as of Halloween, they were removing GSN to "prepare for the digital transition" or somthing to that effect. Ugh-just before they start re-runs of SyndiBAM.
I hope it comes back in February when we all switch to digital TV.
This makes me mad. I'm gonna find their website and complain!

Best of luck, Kazoo.
I wish I could just get Millionaire again. Like you say, maybe in February.

Sorry to break this to you, Kazoo, but the digital changeover will not affect GSN's placement on your cable system. It will only affect those who do not use cable or satellite to receive their TV signals. Since you have cable, it won't affect you.
What has happened is that your cable moved GSN from the analog section of their spectrum to the digital system. In order to get it (now or in the future), you'll need a cable box and you'll need to pay more per month to get their digital stations.

Good luck! Charter did away with GSN on their cable lineup here months ago. If you have a box for digital or High Definition then you can get their expanded lineup (at
an additional cost, of course!) which includes GSN. You need one for each TV, so I have it
on two sets and don't have it on the other two.

Start a campaign.
Go door to door and get people to sign a petition to put GSN on the system.

OTOH, they could also have switched it to one of their other more costly packages, as Comcast did several months back. We get digital, and HD, and it's in the next higher-up grouping than whatever our subscription is.

That's what happened here - GSN was bundled with a "sports and leisure" package that included other cable channels in which I had no interest and didn't want to pay the higher cost for, so I lost the GSN.

My GSN is on the absolute last channel I even look at. It's followed only by Hallmark and some Spanish-language ones. It's on digital, but they put it so far out I guess hardly anyone knows we have it.....
