So, if OU wins out, who represents the Big XII South in the Big XII championship game?

I think that's the question of the, well, region there.

The network definitely got it's money's worth
with this game. It was a fun game to watch and I only gave it one confidence
point in the pickems, so it really couldn't hurt me much no matter who came
out on top.

I wanted Texas to lose because this allows Penn State to move up to #2 in the BCS.

I was screaming profanities at the screen when Tech went up 38-33 and didn't go for two.

They were kicking off from their own 15 due to a penalty (ended up being at the 7-1/2 because ANOTHER penalty was assessed later).

The way that games was going, I envisioned the Longhorns returning the kickoff for a TD (throught the Tech fans- Cal/Stanford, anyone?) and winning the game.

Tech should have gone for 2...but it worked out!

This is the BCS - I wouldn't be shocked if Tech passed Penn State - I still don't think Tech or Alabama can run the table - and if Penn St. does run the table they'll be in the big game. But if all 3 ran the table, I'd have to leave Penn St out.

I don't know if any division (let alone conference) has ever assembled four teams like the Big 12 South this year.

I have a flow chart for you, from earlier this week. Let me find it on CNNSI.com.

EDIT:

Here it is.

I do know that the Big 8 had the top three teams in 1971 (Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Colorado).

In 1995, IIRC, the Big 8 had 4 teams in the final top ten (Nebraska, K-State, Colorado, and Kansas).

However, I would say that the Texas Tech, Texas, OU, and Okie St is impressive out of a six team division.

Texas Tech leapfrogged over the Nittany Lions and into #2 for the BCS.

Now I have to keep rooting for these Big 12 teams to keep beating on one another.

It could happen. Texas Tech faces Oklahoma State next week, and Oklahoma two weeks later.

Divisional tiebreakers:

The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:

If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative

If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

1. The records of the three teams will be compared against each other.

2. The records of the three teams will be compared within their division.

3. The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (fourth, fifth and sixth).

4. The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents.

5. The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series Poll following the completion of Big 12 regular season conference play shall be the representative.

6. The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative.

7. The representative will be chosen by draw.

So if Oklahoma and Texas win out while Tech only loses to the Sooners, it would go to the BCS ranking since all three would have the same records against each other and all the other common opponents.

Now my head hurts. Florida will beat Alabama in the SEC championship game (which all conferences should have imo). I think Florida will play for the national championship.
Penn State is sol this year because of their schedule and no conference championship
game. The Big 12 is feeling what the SEC usually has every year. Hard to end the
season undefeated.
