I'm sure many here remember this question from Kevin Olmstead's record-winning stack on PT-WWTBAM?
$250,000: What writer collaborated with photographer Walker Evans on the 1941 book "Let Us Now Praise Famous Men"?
I remember having a pretty strong notion of the answer (James Agee) and wondering how in the heck I knew it. I knew I had never heard of the book.
Well, today I figured it out.
At random, I picked up an old JRR Tolkein book my wife had picked up for me at a garage sale many years ago, and in the back of the book was this advertisement:
"Now in Ballantine Books...LET US NOW PRAISE FAMOUS MEN by James Agee and Walker Evans"
I just thought that was so funny!
So keep your eyes open at all times! you never know where you'll pick up knowledge like this!
