Gas $2.05

We're getting there. It's still a bit high, IMO. Once we get back down to $1.50, I will be satisfied.
I am thankful. But, we're still getting jabbed. The oil companies will continue to jab us as long as they can.sunflower wrote:Be thankful you're as low as you are! We're still at $2.59!!!
That is true, but the prices you're hearing today are also for future delivery, so there is some lag there. But I agree that the gas price should be a lot lower.Sir_Galahad wrote:I am thankful. There is no other reason why it continues to be as must as it is. The price of a barrel of oil is now LOWER
than it was when the price of gas started to skyrocket.
Yeah, but you're in California. You can afford it.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I paid $3.19 on Sunday.
Reason # 1,456,387 why I will never live in California -- high gas prices.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I paid $3.19 on Sunday.
Because with the higher price of houses, state taxes and property taxes, we have so much money left over to pay for gas.Sir_Galahad wrote:Yeah, but you're in California. You can afford it.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I paid $3.19 on Sunday.
That giant honking tornado picture won't get you a job with the Chamber of Commerce...Appa23 wrote:Reason # 1,456,387 why I will never live in California -- high gas prices.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I paid $3.19 on Sunday.
(Saw $2.21.9 today at gas station a few miles from my house.)
P.S. PSM and other Cali BBs probably have a million-plus reasons why they never would live in Nebraska or elsehwere in the Midwest, as well.
Good point about the tornado, mini. But come up here and you can avoid the earthquakes, the hurricanes, the tornadoes, the wildfires...all we have is a little bit of snow!Hello, Mini! wrote:That giant honking tornado picture won't get you a job with the Chamber of Commerce...Appa23 wrote:Reason # 1,456,387 why I will never live in California -- high gas prices.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I paid $3.19 on Sunday.

But I avoid the earthquake-prone areas also. Give me hurricanes any day!

We will never see $1.50 in CT...our gas tax is far too high for that ever to happen. Plus I'm sure OPEC is going to cut production in order to lower supply and increase price, they can't be happy right now.

Are you in Missouri or Illinois?littlebeast13 wrote:Appa23 wrote:Reason # 1,456,387 why I will never live in California -- high gas prices.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I paid $3.19 on Sunday.

PSM was paying less for gas in September than we were.... and this was before Ike hit.....

Gas on the Illinois side of the St. Louis area shot up to $4.09 on Wednesday September 10th (It was in the $3.70's on the MO side). Then Ike hit Texas the following weekend, and gas did not budge from $4.09 until the last week of September. PSM reported in a thread at that time paying somewhere in the upper $3's for gas (I'm thinking, without looking it up, in the $3.79 range). At the time, nobody else on the Bored could touch the $4.09 we were paying here, and in the following days, only the Ike gouged and shorted areas were paying as much or more for their gas than we were....Appa23 wrote:Are you in Missouri or Illinois?littlebeast13 wrote:Appa23 wrote: Reason # 1,456,387 why I will never live in California -- high gas prices.

Gas in Cali always seems to be a full dollar higher than in Omaha. I drive to KC around once a month, and the gas in KS and MO is about the same as the Omaha area. It is usually 10 cents cheaper in Iowa (b/c of state gas tax). Also, I am comparing ethanol blend for Nebraska versus normal unleaded in KS/MO.
The curves are similar, although these two graphs use slightly different scales.Bob Juch wrote:So does anyone know why diesel hasn't gone down much?

Despite the economic slowdown, diesel volumes at truck stops increased in September compared to the month’s volumes last year, according to a fuel survey conducted by the National Association of Truck Stop Operators (NATSO), which represents 1,100 truck stops and travel plazas.
Diesel sales at truck stops in September increased 3.17 percent compared to a year earlier. This is the first year-over-year increase in diesel sales volumes since April, which followed a sharp 7.8-percent decline in August.

Reports of $1.79 here in Houston today.
Pretty amazing.
Made me laugh!Sir_Galahad wrote:Yeah, but you're in California. You can afford it.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I paid $3.19 on Sunday.
Please explain. What does my negativity towards sharing the wealth have to do with her paying high gas prices? I would just as soon see the same gas prices everywhere. But, it is a common (mis)conception that because one lives in California, one is quite well off and can afford the higher prices.peacock2121 wrote:Made me laugh!Sir_Galahad wrote:Yeah, but you're in California. Especially with all the stuff you have been saying about sharing the wealth.
