Back from England
A few notes:
We stayed in a little village (I wouldn't call it a town) called Benington. It is basically a road with cottages along it, and a pub at either end. And a church, which we attended on Sunday, built sometime around 1350. There has been a church on the site since the 800's.
We explored Cambridge and Oxford. In Oxford, we took a pint at the Eagle and Child, which was the pub frequented by CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien and the other Inklings for many years. They called it the Bird and Baby. There is a letter over the fireplace signed by Lewis and Tolkein telling the owner they'd drunk to his health some day in 1949.
Had a proper pub lunch (slab of beef, two types of potatoes) on Sunday- listening to the crowd, it was like being in a road company of My Fair Lady. Monday, had a great meal- would have to call it "Nouveau Anglais." English specialties done up, and done well.
Gone 4 days, felt like at least a week. In a good way.

I am about 25% sure of this.

I thought "English cuisine" was an oxymoron.nitrah55 wrote:English specialties done up, and done well.

Everything tastes good with a pint in an English pub.

I think you're missing page 2, where you can find:kusch wrote:Ya, I did and I am still clueless. I even just went back and read the thread again.

nitrah has also been explained, although that might not make much sense if you've never met him or been told his real name.![]()

I am with Kusch. Unless Nitrah is simply hartin, I don't get it.kusch wrote:Ya, I did and I am still clueless. And I am pretty sure I have met him.
I think.

Tsk!
Anywho, we only had a couple of beers, so I really do remember meeting him. And anyway, I am pretty sure I met him earlier at my first audition. Right Nitrah?
The mind is the first thing to go! That or the waistline.

Just to defuse the confusion, "hartin" is my last name. "55" is the year I was born, which makes me not quite as old as Pea. (heh, heh)
Christie and I have met twice, both at auditions.
And, as long as I'm doing the full disclosure stuff, and since we've already had one BB plug a book in recent weeks, I'll plug one of mine:

Any other questions?

At leats I'm not the only one with an unimaginative screen name! (LOL!)nitrah55 wrote:Just to defuse the confusion, "hartin" is my last name. "55" is the year I was born, which makes me not quite as old as Pea. (heh, heh)
Mine's just a blending of my initials and last name- and was a nickname given to me by my college roomates.
