Steelers suspend the pothead Holmes
Stupid Santonio!
What is it with sports stars? Money must make them idiots!
I smoked a little herb in college, and I wasn't dumb enough to get caught with blunts in my car.
And I had a lot less to lose than these guys do.

More to the point, why does anyone think marijuana is a performance-enhancing drug? Why is anyone penalized for using it, if they are not forklift operators or carrying weapons? Why don't we legalize it and target something that is actually bad?
Yes, I have to substitute someone for Holmes in the fantasy league this week.

I am very liberal on the legalization of pot (go figure!) but for now, the law is the law.Ritterskoop wrote:More to the point, why does anyone think marijuana is a performance-enhancing drug? I have to sub for Holmes, too...and I have few attractive options.
Maybe I'll pick up Nate Washington!

I wouldn't call wanting the legalization of marijuana a liberal viewpoint. I am about as conservative as you get, but I'm completely in favor of scrapping the laws against marijuana. It is, after all, a plant put on this earth by God. It requires no processing by humans unlike other illegal drugs. And how much government resources are wasted on the enforcement of these laws? As conservatives, we should be for less government intrusion on our lives.Jeemie wrote:I am very liberal on the legalization of pot (go figure!) but for now, the law is the law.Ritterskoop wrote:More to the point, why does anyone think marijuana is a performance-enhancing drug? And as a disclaimer, marijuana never did anything for me. Unlike a former president, I did inhale, and it felt like my lungs were burning from the inside out. And I didn't feel any effect at all, so I don't touch the stuff after that initial time...

All I have to put in Holme's slot is Matt Jones. (if his 3 week suspension doesn't start by Sunday) At least this isn't in the money league I play down in Florida. In that one we have a "thug rule". If anyone on your roster gets arrested or suspended by the league, you have to pay a $25 thug fee into the pool of money we play for.

All we need to do is have Plaxico AWOL at practice again and the Jints and Steelers will be all square.

I'm actually worried more about James Harrison than anyone else, in the long run.WheresFanny wrote:Don't worry, Jeems, you've still got Fast Willie!

There apparently is a rash of substance abuse the NFL has just caught up with...and the rumors are that Silverback is on the juice...that no one can be as strong as he appears to be.
Oh...you were talking about fantasy football.
I was screwed long before that! Whatever I learned in my five-year playoff run, I forgot this year!

What I was looking for happened, though Plax was only sidelined for about one quarter as a result of his latest AWOLness.jacorbett70 wrote:All we need to do is have Plaxico AWOL at practice again and the Jints and Steelers will be all square.
