Apparently, because a stolen base occurred in the fifth inning of yesterday's World Series game, everyone in American can claim a free taco at Taco Bell on October 28 between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time. I didn't catch the broadcast myself, but Baseball Prospectus is usually pretty reliable. --Bob

They mentioned that when Jason Bartlett stole a base during the game last night....
I was unaware of the promotion, but don't eat at Taco Bell anyway.....

IIRC Taco Bell did this last year, too. There was even their logo on the bases. How you would steal first remains a mystery.

Free ice cream at Ben & Jerry's scoop shops too - on election day, if you tell them you voted. I don't remember if there were specific hours or if it was all day, I got the email a week or two ago.

Wasn't it Taco Bell that put a big "X" in the ocean and promised a taco to everyone in America/world if Skylab hit the mark?

Well, Mir, but yes.
Of course, Taco Bell makes use of the "meat tube." I don't go to Taco Bell these days.

I personally prefer Del Taco, but if the Tacos are free, I will go to Taco Bell.

Same here. We really like the crispy fish tacos, and their crinkle fries are great.
