That's the headline in my Comcast news videos.
My immediate answer was "the thought that the other one would become President."
Katie Couric had asked them both when was the last time they cried. Tell me again how she's supposed to be taken seriously as an evening news anchor, please.

In Britain, by law, the time from initial campaign to election day is, I believe, 6 weeks.
But all election campaigns are publicly funded- no one has to fundraise.

We have a piece of paper with names and circles on it, in alphabetical order.
We get a pencil and walk to a cardboard "booth"
We make an x in the circle of choice. The Elections official takes off the barcode counter. We put the paper in a box and leave.
They are opened at the end of the poll time, and counted by hand. No apparatus, electronics or complications.

What are these things, 'paper' and 'pencil' that you speak of? Are they new products from Diebold? Can the source code on how to work with them be kept proprietary? If they really work without electronics (yeah, like I believe that) they must draw their power from some really complex source, must be very advance and as a result, very expensive. How do I get to be an exclusive vendor?
