Princess Annie now has two -- count 'em, 2 -- tiaras in her crown jewels wardrobe. The smaller one has pink sequins and maribou feathers. Because it's lightweight and seems to stay in place, it apparently is comfortable for her, so we'll go with that. The heavier one has rhinestones that spell out Princess. We'll pretend that one is for ceremonial state occasions.
I also came home with a Lizbit-sized Elvis white "jumpsuit" and cape. Because.

Annie doesn't have her princess costume yet. As you may know, it is being custom-made by the Christie1111 House of Couture. When the time comes for modeling, you will be among the first to know.

I still have to do alterations on Zap's costume. The girls are miffed by the fact that he has a costume and they do not.

Maddie thinks that Zap is the favorite child.
Yesterday she got down on the floor and said, "Look at me Mommy, I can cockroach too!"

Natalie got a new tiara today for her wedding. I'm glad
she bought since she paid $199.00 for the damn thing! She loves it, though.

Casey is the most popular member of the family. If we show up anywhere without her, we better have a good reason.

If I wasn't on a stoopid conference call right now, it would be done!
And one of the people on the call has the WORST phone connection

Okay, this whole thread is too funny, because I actually AM shopping for tiaras, also.
Wendy's 40th birthday is next April, and we are cruising in celebration. She has made it clear that the one thing I should do before any other "surprises" to make it special is to get her a birthday tiara. She has said for at least the last ten years that she wanted to wear a tiara on her 40th birthday, so I know she is dead serious about it, in the same way as she was serious about wanting to dip her toes in the ocean when we first started dating. That's a pretty big thing for a girl who grew up 1000 miles from any ocean, and I was able to fulfill that dream mere hours after we got married.
So now for the tiara.
It needs to be sturdy enough to last several more birthdays. It needs to be festive, perhaps even say "Happy Birthday," but not anything specific to the 40th or any other number. We are thrifty people, so neither one of us will be happy with a gem-encrusted 24 K gold job. And I probably ought not to get it from the same source as Jusy, for understandable reasons.
And when the cruise happens, next April, I'll be sure to post pictures.
Okay, go!

Oh.
My.
Gawd.
That's just almost perfect.
Now if I can find it with purple stones instead of pink, I'll buy it right now.
It really is almost exactly what I had in mind. And I can't beleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve there is actually a place called tiara town.
Thanks, Pea.

You underestimate the power of tiaras.

It's something that greyhounds do. Zap wasn't supposed to do it for six months, but he did it a few days ago.

He's not my favorite.
I think that it's because I spent so much time with him when we first got him. The first two weeks he was home with me, he was with me 24/7 so that I could watch his behavior, especially in regards to the cats and going to the bathroom.
He is very smart and has learned very fast, but he knows what is expected in terms of good behavior. Now I don't need to be with him as much because I trust him around the cats. There has been some butt sniffing, but for the most part, he ignores the cats. He even ignores the rabbit when we go into the garage. He's a very good boy.
Today he slept on the couch for two hours downstairs while I was upstairs.

Maddie thought about entering the Miss Outstanding Teen Placentia contest because she wanted to have a legitimate reason to wear a tiara.

I knew all about the Christie1111 House of Couture special outfit.
I just didn't realize it hadn't arrived at Casa Annie Camaro.
BTW -- are you aware of Good Housekeeping's Halloween pet costume contest? I will post the details on the Bored for everyone.

I think it is very sweet what you are doing, MK.

I like the tiara that Pea linked to. I also like
this for some additional splendor for the special occasion.

I hate being behind on posts. Grr.
I didn't realize that you were able to get the HoC to design this costume! How cool is that?
I can't wait to see it!

Oh, I hope Annie doesn't see that link. She'll be demanding a scepter and carrying it around in her mouth, threatening to whap Lizbit with it right and left.
